The following publication: Deaths involving COVID-19, England and Wales publication shows that, from 1 March 2020 until 30 June 2020, 4,476 deaths involving COVID-19 had no pre-existing conditions.

Our new Monthly mortality analysis reports for England and Wales show the amount of COVID-19 deaths per month. There were 716 deaths involving COVID19 in July, in most cases (92.4% in England and 90.3% in Wales) where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate, it was found to be the underlying cause of death.

In August there were 291 deaths involving COVID-19, in most cases (92.2% in England and 89.7% in Wales) where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate, it was found to be the underlying cause of death.

Analysis of COVID-19 deaths in this bulletin, includes only those deaths with an underlying cause of death of COVID-19, referred to as "due to COVID-19". This is different from deaths "involving COVID-19" used in other publications, which includes deaths that had COVID-19 mentioned anywhere on the death certificate, whether as underlying cause or not. More information on this process can be found in the User guide to mortality statistics.

Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide you with the requested breakdown of COVID-19 deaths with no underlying health conditions by age category.
