You asked

Would you be so kind as to provide me with a spreadsheet showing the weekly mortality rates for England and Wales, from 1993 to the latest available figures for 2021.

I can't seem to go any further back than 2010.

Total death numbers, crude mortality rate (deaths per 100,000) and age standardised mortality rate, for every week, from 1993 to 2021 so far.

Unfortunately, we do not hold analysis showing deaths weekly deaths by age standardised mortality rate from 1993 to 2010. This would need to be created as bespoke analysis. Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please contact health.data@ons.gov.uk to discuss your enquiry further. Please note, there may be a charge for this work which would be subject to our charging policy.

You may also be interested in the following ad hoc dataset that was published on 12 January 2021: Annual deaths and mortality rates, 1938 to 2020 (provisional). This dataset provides crude mortality rates (per 100,000 population) from 1993-2020 (provisional). Please note, death registrations that were delayed due to inquests, autopsies etc, these will be added to the annual death registered series and a finalised annual rate for 2020 will be calculated. Finalised annual figures are expected to be published in summer 2021.

More information on how we calculate mortality rates can be found in our user guide to mortality statistics guidance.
