Thank you for your enquiry.

1. COVID-19 deaths involving the clinically vulnerable

ONS mortality data is taken from the death certificate and medication taken is not listed as part of the death registration process, unless directly attributable or a contributory factor to the death. The COVID-19 high risk or vulnerable groups are definitions used by the NHS. Unfortunately, we do not have information on these specific vulnerability groupings as it is not supplied on the death certificate.

NHS Digital may be better placed to answer your enquiry. They can be contacted via email at enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk.

However, we have produced detailed analysis on COVID-19 related deaths by underlying cause. Table 5 also contains death occurrences with the most common pre-existing conditions. This information can be found in our bulletin Deaths involving COVID-19, England. This bulletin will be updated on 17th July 2020 to include June 2020 data.

From July 2020 onwards, this information is available in table 12 of our  Monthly Mortality analysis publication by broad age bands. We will update this publication on June 2021.

We have also produced analysis on COVID-19 related deaths by disability which may be of interest to you. This adds a different perspective and breakdown on a broader level of Covid-19 deaths: Coronavirus (COVID-19) related deaths by disability status, England and Wales: 2 March to 15 May 2020

2. COVID-19 hospitalisations

Unfortunately, we do not hold data on hospital admissions and discharges.

This data is held by NHS Digital, so they may be better placed to answer your query. They can be contacted via email at enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk, and by telephone at 0300 303 5678.

3. Long COVID-19 and immunocompromised

The latest publication on Long COVID-19 is 1st April 2021 Prevalence of ongoing symptoms following coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the UK - Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk). However, this is estimates of the prevalence of self-reported "long COVID", and the duration of ongoing symptoms following confirmed coronavirus infection, using UK Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Survey data. We do not have access to GP records and NHS Digital would be better placed to answer this enquiry.
