You asked

I would like to request through the Freedom of Information Act the statistics on how many physical assaults in England were carried out by bouncers, or doormen/women.

As well as how many went to court or led to a conviction.

Also, any data on race, gender and age of the victims and bouncers themselves would be appreciated.

In the Nottinghamshire area.

We said

Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the information you have requested.

The ONS Centre for Crime and Justice publish figures on the levels and trends of crime in England and Wales primarily based on two sets of crime statistics: The Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police recorded crime data. Neither of these data sources collect information on perpetrators.

However, the Home Office is responsible for collating all police recorded crime data and may be able to offer some information relating to your request. The Home Office can be contacted via crimeandpolicestats@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

The Ministry of Justice also collects and publishes data on convictions and court proceedings, and therefore may be better suited to help with this part of your request. They can be contacted at ESD@justice.gov.uk.
