Please provide monthly deaths by all causes, per region, between the years of 1998 - 2019.

Please see the following publication: Deaths registered monthly in England and Wales. This provides the number of deaths registered each month by area of usual residence for England and Wales, by region, county, local and unitary authority, and London borough. Data is available from 2006-2020.
Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide you with monthly deaths for 1998-2005 by region. In order to fulfil this request, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.
However, this information may be available to commission as bespoke analysis. Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please contacthealth.data@ons.gov.uk to discuss your enquiry further. Please note, there may be a charge for this work which would be subject to our charging policy.
