People living in each electoral ward in England and Wales, annual population changes and age distributions.
We take a look at the migrant population of England and Wales, focusing on those who were born outside of the UK and those who hold a non-UK passport. Further analysis is given by age, sex and year of arrival. We found that 13% of the resident population in England and Wales were born outside the UK, while 7.4% only held non-UK passports.
2011 Census statistics provide a rich source of information about the number, distribution and characteristics of the population in England and Wales as at census day (27 March 2011). The statistics included in this release provide the first detailed cross tabulations of two or more topics from the census that add to the detail already provided in earlier releases.
