The way in which people report the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected their household finances in the past seven days, if people report their costs of living has changed in the last month and why, and people’s financial situation in the last month – indicators from the Opinions and Lifestyle Survey (OPN).

Provides files to download data as it existed for this dataset on previous dates.

Statistics are most often revised for 1 of 2 reasons:

  1. For certain statistics initial estimates are released with the expectation that these may be revised and updated as further data becomes available.
  2. Revisions may also be made when methods or systems are changed.

These types of planned revisions should not be confused with errors in released statistics, which are genuine mistakes. Such mistakes occur rarely and, when they do happen, corrections are made in a timely manner, announced and clearly explained to users in line with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics (Principle 2, Practice 7).

Correction See correction
We have corrected an error in this dataset within Table 3: Financial situation and borrowing. The previous version contained errors in the confidence intervals associated with some of the estimates for grouped responses in rows 40 and 41 of this table ( "very easy or easy" and "very difficult or difficult"). This has now been corrected and happened due to human error. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
