Provides files to download data as it existed for this dataset on previous dates.

Statistics are most often revised for 1 of 2 reasons:

  1. For certain statistics initial estimates are released with the expectation that these may be revised and updated as further data becomes available.
  2. Revisions may also be made when methods or systems are changed.

These types of planned revisions should not be confused with errors in released statistics, which are genuine mistakes. Such mistakes occur rarely and, when they do happen, corrections are made in a timely manner, announced and clearly explained to users in line with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics (Principle 2, Practice 7).

A correction has been made to table P13 in the Year ending March 2024 edition of the dataset. Figures for Greater Manchester, Cambridgeshire and British Transport Police have been updated for the total number of crimes flagged as child sexual exploitation and the figure for Lincolnshire has been updated for the total number of crimes flagged as child sexual abuse. This was due to an error in preparing the data. Updates have also been made to regional, England and England and Wales totals as a result. We have corrected this error. You can see all previous versions of this data on the previous versions page. We apologise for any inconvenience.

We have corrected an error in Table P13: Number of Child Sexual Abuse crimes – combining crimes flagged as Child Sexual Abuse and Indecent Images of Children (IIOC) crimes; plus crimes flagged as Child Sexual Exploitation, by police force area. The previous version showed an incorrect figure for the “Total number of child sexual abuse crimes (CSA flagged and IIOC)” for Warwickshire, for the year ending March 2024. This has now been replaced with the correct figure.
