Statistics are most often revised for 1 of 2 reasons:

  1. For certain statistics initial estimates are released with the expectation that these may be revised and updated as further data becomes available.
  2. Revisions may also be made when methods or systems are changed.

These types of planned revisions should not be confused with errors in released statistics, which are genuine mistakes. A small processing error has been found in the Labour Productivity, Q4 2015 release published at 09.30 on 7 April 2016. The error affects CDIDs GYY7, GYY8 and GYY9 (market sector output per hour) in Table 7 of the PDF version of the bulletin and the Time Series Dataset. Table 7 of the Excel data table is not affected. We have now corrected this error. You can see all previous versions of the affected data on the previous versions page. We apologise for any inconvenience.
