I would like to make a request for some statistics regarding Vitamin K deficiency bleeding in newborn babies under the FOI Act.
How many cases of VKDB were diagnosed in newborn babies in the year 2023 please in England?
Please would you include cases of VKD that occurred within four weeks of the birth if possible.

NHS England have published an article on Vitamin K for newborn babies which states that vitamin K deficiency bleeding (VKDB) occurs in 1 in every 8,500 full term live births if no vitamin K supplement is given.
