You asked
On your website you offer the CPIH index for both electricity and gas going back to the 1980's. However you do not offer the raw data used to calculate and produce this figure. Please could you make available the raw timeseries of UK gas and electricity prices used to produce the aforementioned adjusted time series.

Thank you for your request for the raw price data used in producing the consumer price indices for electricity and gas.
Unfortunately, we are unable to disclose the data you have requested as they are considered personal information. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 renders it a criminal offence to disclose information held by the Statistics Board (ONS) for statistical purposes that would identify an individual. As we are prohibited by law from publishing statistics in which individuals can be identified, Section 44(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies, where information is exempt from disclosure if prohibited by another enactment.
