Specifically, I would be grateful if you could provide: 1. Annual statistics on fatalities in the UK construction industry for all available years. 2. Any breakdown of these figures, such as causes of fatalities, types of incidents, or other categorizations.

Thank you for your request. 

We are responsible for the production of mortality statistics for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk . 

Our mortality statistics are driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. The occupation of the deceased is provided by the informant at death registration and coded to the Standard Occupation Classification.  

We have produced several tabulations relating to the employment industry of the deceased. These include. 

Suicides by occupation, deaths registered between 2020 and 2022, England and Wales 

Suicides by occupation, deaths registered between 2011 and 2021, England and Wales 

Deaths from all causes, registered in 2022, England and Wales 

Deaths from all causes, registered in 2021, England and Wales 

Deaths from all causes, registered in 2020, England and Wales 

Deaths from all causes, registered in 2019, England and Wales 

If these data do not suit your needs, information on deaths by occupation and cause along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales may be available to order. Please note these services are subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs in line with our charging policy.
