Please could you provide the number of people following the Yazidism religion from the 'other religions' category from the QS210EW dataset on religion from the 2011 census? If it is not possible, will there be any changes for the 2021 census concerning the status of this religion?

We said

You have made a Freedom of Information request for details of the number of people following the Yazidism religion, and the availability of this information in the 2011 Census and in the 2021 Census.

Information on the number of people following the Yazidism religion is not held on the 2011 Census. There was no classification for Yazidi in the 2011 Census. It is not possible to extract the number of people following this religion from the 'other religions' category.

We recently held consultations on the 2021 Census:

No request for information on the Yazidi/Yezidi religious population was received in either consultation. However, if you would like to contact the our consultation mailbox (2021census.consultation@ons.gov.uk) your comments will be passed to the classifications team who will consider your request when reviewing our classifications for the 2021 Census. If you have any evidence of wider user need, it would be useful if you would include this with your email.
