Please can I get the weekly mortality data from all causes between 1970 and 2020 for England and Wales by age group and sex?

Thank you for your enquiry,
We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from death certificates at death registration.
We have previously published the following analysis: Number of deaths from all causes by day, month and year of occurrence, by sex and age group, England and Wales, 1970 to 2020. You may be able to use this daily data to compile your own weekly data.
However, if you wish us to compile the weekly data for you, we can do this as a custom output. Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Such enquiries can be made to: Health.Data@ons.gov.uk.
