You asked
I was enquiring about if you may be able to show me some unsolved rape statistics, similar to the unsolved homicide's already on the site.
We said
Thank you for your request.
We produce statistics from two main sources, the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW), and Police Recorded Crime (PRC). Our publications and data concern crime as it is experienced by victims, or as it is recorded by the police.
We do not hold data specifically on unsolved rape cases. Our Sexual offending: victimisation and the path through the criminal justice system publication includes data on outcomes of sexual offences recorded by the police which may be relevant to you. Please note that this release was published in 2018 and we currently don't hold more recent data on this subject. More up to date data can be found in the Home Office Police recorded crime and outcomes open data tables. If you have any questions about this data, the Home Office may be able to help you further and can be contacted at CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk.
You may also want to have a look at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Outcomes by Offence data tool: June 2023. It allows you to filter it by offence to find the convictions and sentenced numbers. If you have any questions regarding this data, the Ministry of Justice may be able to help you further and can be contacted at ESD@justice.gov.uk.
