Thank you for your request.
On 31 March 2025, the UK Statistics Authority's (UKSA's) total headcount was 5,632.
The total number at each pay grade, and the starting salaries for each pay grade, are provided in the Numbers per grade and starting salary spreadsheet.
In terms of average salaries, this is not calculated every month. However, data on average salaries, as part of a wider Civil Service pay data collection, are provided in the Average saleries December 2024 spreadsheet. The latest data shared were as at December 2024. These data are based on groupings against standard Civil Service grades (so not each individual grade).
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) also recently published the Pay Framework, which you may find useful. It is available to download on our website, as part of the UK Statistics Authority leave, maternity, travel and pay policies Freedom of Information request.
Throughout this response we have interpreted "DDAT" as Government Digital and Data, the new name for the profession across Government (referred to in this response and attachments as "Digital and Data"). In terms of the arrangements in place for Digital and Data roles, this is described in pages 13 to 21 of the Pay Framework. The ranges described in the Pay Framework are for 2023 to 2024. The 2024 to 2025 ranges have been reproduced in the file shared here with the headcount and starting salary data.
In terms of UKSA's approach to allowances, this is described in pages 21 to 26 of the Pay Framework.
In terms of UKSA's approach to pay progression, they do not have a published process for pay progression because it is subject to each individual pay negotiation process.
