I wanted to request a more granular breakdown of the data underlying this graph on the ownership of UK shares.
In particular could you share what proportion of UK shares have been held by UK pension schemes by year? (I believe this information would currently fall into the Other UK category and would like to see it separated out).

Section 4 of our Ownership of UK quoted shares: 2020 bulletin references data relating to pensions.
A full breakdown can be viewed by downloading the associated data from Ownership of UK shares 2022 dataset. This includes pension funds, along with other sectors comprising the grey bar in figure 1. The data are not by year and the frequency of measurements are inconsistent, however the trend since the 1960's can be seen.
Here we include;
In the tab "Table 12", The Percentage of total market value of UK quoted shares by sector of beneficial owner.
In the tab "Table 13", Total market value (£ billion) of UK quoted shares by sector of beneficial owner (although this has a shorter time series).
