You asked
I would like to request the
UK Population 2009 to 2019.
Separated into Male and Female.
For the following age groups: 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39 and 40-44
If it's possible can you also provide data on different ethnic groups.
We said
The data that you require is available to create using our online data service Nomis.
To find the data
1. Go to the 'Data Downloads' section and click on 'Query data'
2. Click on 'Population Estimates/Projections' and you will be presented with five choices
3. Click on the first one – Population estimates – local authority based by single year of age (1991 – 2021)
4. From the left-hand panel click on 'Geography'
5. From the list click on 'countries' and from the drop-down menu select 'Some' and then select United Kingdom
6. Going back to the left-hand panel click on 'Date' which will bring up the available mid-years tick the ones you require
7. If you require your data by age click on 'Age' on the left-hand panel and again select the Individual ages and 5-year age bands that you require
8. If you require your data by sex click on 'Sex' on the left-hand panel and again choose what you want to include
You can choose how you want your finished dataset to look by choosing 'Format/Layout' on the left-hand side.
9. Click on 'Download Data' from the 'Get your data' section of the left-hand panel
It will now say 'Extracting data' and after a few seconds you can download your data in Excel format.
