You asked

I would like data on how many people have died in the UK as a result of receiving the COVID-19 vaccines.

Could you also advise where I can get information on worldwide deaths as a result of receiving the COVID-19 vaccines.

We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Therefore, we do not hold the requested information for the whole of the UK. Should you wish to request these figures for Scotland and Northern Ireland, NRS and NISRA can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

However, you may be interest to know that we are currently developing our analytical plans with an intention to publish detailed vaccination statistics soon for England and Wales. Once we have finalised these plans a publication date will be announced on our Release Calendar.

All cause deaths and deaths involving COVID-19  are published in our weekly deaths dataset. This data set is updated every Tuesday.
