Thank you for your request submitted under the Freedom of Information Act.
We report our workforce data as of the last day of each month to ensure consistency and accuracy in our records. As of 31 March 2025 our headcount was 5,632, of those 3,092 were recorded as female 2,508 were recorded as male, and in 32 cases, there was no recorded value.
The gender data is recorded by the team responsible for onboarding our new recruits. It is taken from the individual’s legal documentation which is shared with us to allow us to verify their identity. Response options are female and male, and no definitions are given.
Entry of this data into our system is intended to be mandatory. We have therefore reviewed the 32 cases with no recorded value as of 31 March 2025, and our updated figures for the same snapshot date are 3,105 recorded as female and 2,527 recorded as male.
