There are legal restrictions which limit how data on individual businesses can be shared by ONS. The inter-departmental business register can be shared with Government departments for statistical purposes and in some circumstances with Local Authorities.
Unfortunately, we cannot make lists of individual businesses available to the public. Under s.39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA), ONS is prohibited to disclose personal information obtained for statistical purposes. s.44(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 states that information is exempt from disclosure if its disclosure is prohibited by any enactment.
