Please supply how many deaths from each of the top 10 leading causes of death in the UK had no pre-existing health conditions in 2020 and 2021.

We are responsible for the production of Mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.
We have published headline figures of leading causes in the UK for 2001 to 2018 in this analysis, but this does not include the removal of pre-existing health conditions: Leading causes of death, UK - Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk).
England and Wales data
We publish leading causes without the removal of pre-existing conditions in our Monthly Mortality Analysis for England and Wales.
If this does not meet your needs, we can create a custom output. Information on leading causes in England and Wales with no pre-existing conditions along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).
