Theft of fuel

I would like to request information concerning fuel crime. Specifically, I would like to know how many reported cases of fuel theft there have been in the UK.

The offence you have requested data on is quite specific and not something we differentiate between within the figures we publish from either the Crime Survey for England and Wales or the police recorded crime series.

These offences will fall under the police recorded crime category of ‘making off without payment’ which can be found in the Appendix Table A4 alongside our latest crime bulletin:

Please note that other crimes are also counted under this offence category.

Individual police forces are likely to hold data specifically on theft of fuel, but this is not shared with us.
