You asked
The number of suicides in Dorset from 2001 to present.
If possible could this be broken down into males and females, years, ages, and the areas in Dorset county.
We said
The latest available mortality data by underlying cause of death is for 2013 registrations.
Crude rates for suicides registered in 2013 for NUTS3 areas (which are local authorities or aggregations of local authorities) are available to download.
The number of suicides, and crude rates, by local authority in England and Wales, for the periods 2004-06, 2007-09 and 2010-12 and the median registration delays for suicides, by local authority in England and Wales, for the periods 2004-06, 2007-09 and 2010-12 are also available to download.
If these datasets do not meet your requirements special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Such enquiries should be made to: mortality@ons.gov.uk. We recommend that you contact the Mortality Analysis team directly in order to discuss your data requirements in more detail.
