You asked
Please provide patient suicide statistics for each NHS Mental Health Trust for the past 11 years (2010-2020). Please can the figures be broken down by Trust, year, and, if possible, further categorised by community or inpatient status (i.e. whether the patient was an inpatient or being cared for in the community at the time of death).

Thank you for your enquiry.
Unfortunately, we do not hold analysis on Patient Suicide Statistics by NHS Mental health Trust and in-patient status for the past 11 years, broken down by Trust, year, and community or inpatient status. However, we may be able to create this information or something similar as ad hoc analysis. Information on suicides, along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Such enquiries would fall outside of the Freedom of Information regime and can be made to: Health.Data@ons.gov.uk.
Please note, suicide data for 2020 has not yet been finalised and therefore will not be available to request as bespoke analysis until the publication of our Suicides in the UK release in September 2021.
