I refer to this journal article which mentions ONS data covering the years 1861 - 2007

My data requirements are as follows: -

Age                 15 years and older

Gender            Male/Female

Method

Location         Country, County, District, Post Code for 1959 onwards

Please provide the above data for years 1861 onwards to present day 2021?

Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide you with deaths by country, country, district, and postcode from 1959.

In order to fulfil this request, we would need to create bespoke analysis, which we are not obligated to do under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. We therefore consider this to be information not held. However, information on subnational mortality from 1981 or national (England and Wales) mortality from 1959, along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales may be available to commission as bespoke analysis. Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please contact health.data@ons.gov.uk to discuss your enquiry further. Please note, there may be a charge for this work which would be subject to our charging policy.

Data from 2019 -- 2013 is available in our NOMIS webservice by region, local authority and MSOA by age and cause.

Deaths for 2001 -- 2019 is available in 21^st Century Mortality.

Deaths for 1901 -- 2000 is available in the 20^th Century Mortality files.
