The information you have requested is also part of our explorable dataset available on our NOMIS webservice from 2013 to 2021.

  • Select the geography (England and Wales, regional or by local authority).
  • Select Age – All ages or 5-year age bands.
  • Select Gender – Total or Male/Female
  • Select rates – All deaths, rates or percentage of population for example.
  • Select cause of death (ICD10 code search is available or select R96, I46.9 and I46.1
  • Select format (Excel or CSV for example)

For more historic data, this is published as part of our 21st century mortality, which contains all-cause mortality data by ICD code, age and sex, 2001-2021, England and Wales. You can filter on 'column A' for each year and filter on ICD-10 R96, I49.9 and I46.1

Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).
