You asked

I am hoping for statistics on adolescent (13-18years) drug trafficking through all sea and airports of entry into the UK from 2005-2015. Statistics on substances that have been imported by these individuals would also be beneficial.

Thank you for your request for information on drugs trafficking.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) publish police recorded crime data on a quarterly basis that shows the total number of ‘trafficking in controlled drugs’ offences (under offence code 92A) recorded by the police. The latest figures and a time series of the total number of drugs trafficking offences are provided in Appendix Table A4 of Crime in England and Wales, year ending December 2015 which was published on 21st April 2016.

The link to Appendix Table A4 is below: http://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/crimeandjustice/datasets/crimeinenglandandwalesappendixtables

Unfortunately, the ONS do not hold any information or breakdowns on the age of offenders or the substances imported. The Ministry of Justice produce statistics relating to offenders so it may be worth contacting them to see if they can provide any additional information. They can be contacted at statistics.enquiries@justice.gsi.gov.uk.

For future reference, you do not need to use a Freedom of Information request to ask for data. It is usually quicker to simply email us at CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
