You asked

Please could you provide me with the statistics for death or vaccine injury or other serious complications from the Covid-19 Astra and Pfizer vaccinations.

We said

Thank you for your request.

ONS mortality data comes from the information collected at death registration. All of the conditions mentioned on the death certificate are coded using the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10). From all of these causes an underlying cause of death is selected using ICD-10 coding rules. The underlying cause of death is defined by WHO as:

a) the disease or injury that initiated the train of events directly leading to death, or

b) the circumstances of the accident or violence that produced the fatal injury

You can find the number of deaths involving adverse reactions to the COVID-19 vaccination (not restricted to the first or second wave) in table 12 of our Monthly Mortality Analysis dataset. There are currently 4 deaths registered with the aligning ICD-10 codes for this (U12.9). The latest data available is for June 2021.

We do not hold analysis on vaccination branding as this information is not supplied to us. Additionally, we do not hold figures for those who may have been harmed or suffered illness from a COVID-19 vaccination.
