Please provide:

  1. Total revenue generated by gig workers in the manual labour sectors (e.g., tradespersons, construction, DIY) for the most recent fiscal year.

  2. Total revenue generated by gig workers in the digital freelancer sector (e.g., IT services) on online marketplaces for the most recent fiscal year.

  3. Any additional relevant data or insights that the Office of National Statistics may have regarding the financial landscape of these specific sectors within the non-delivery and non-taxi gig economy.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the data requested. The gig economy is a complex area to measure and our annual business surveys do not measure the detail required. It is a similar case in our labour market statistics. 

A similar concept is the sharing economy, but this is more focussed on the platform side connecting taxi drivers. Although the data cannot be shared from a company level due to disclosure, we have published a couple of publications that may of be of interest:
