You asked

Could you please provide me with data on rape convictions by ethnicity.

We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

Our publications and data concern crime as it is experienced by victims, or as it is recorded by police. We do not generally produce statistics on convictions.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) are primarily responsible for data on convictions.

Specifically, their Outcomes by offence data tool may be of interest as this allows you to filter on crime type and by individual characteristics, over time. If you have any questions about this data tool, the Ministry of Justice may be able to help you further and can be contacted at ESD@justice.gov.uk

We most recently published statistics on rape convictions for year ending December 2017 as part of the 2018 'Sexual offending: victimisation and the path through the criminal justice system' release. The Sexual offending: Ministry of Justice appendix tables in this release include outcomes from the criminal justice system on defendants and offenders of sexual offences. MoJ Table 3 and MoJ Table 7 are broken down by sexual offence group and ethnicity which may be of interest.

If you have any other crime-related queries, you can email crimestatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
