This FOI is regarding the number of public swimming pools in England from 2015-2021.
Please could you provide for England from 1st January 2014 up to and including the 30th November 2021 the:
Number of Public swimming pools
Number of closed public swimming pools
Top 20 most common reasons for closure

All businesses that are registered for VAT and/or PAYE are held on the Inter Departmental Business Register (IDBR).
They are classified by UK Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) 2007.
Unfortunately, there isn't a classification just for swimming pools.
These are included in SIC 93.11 Operation of sports facilities.
This class includes:
The operation of facilities for indoor or outdoor sports events (open, closed or covered, with or without spectator seating):
- football, hockey, cricket, rugby stadiums
- racetracks for car, dog, horse races
- swimming pools and stadiums
- track and field stadiums
- winter sports arenas and stadiums
- ice-hockey arenas
- boxing arenas
- golf courses
- bowling lanes
- organisation and operation of outdoor or indoor sports events for professionals or amateurs by organisations with own facilities
