FOI REF: FOI/2023/4967

You asked

I would like to know the number of prosecutions relating to antisocial behaviour in the years 2022 and 2021.

How many people were prosecuted in 2022 and 2021 for crimes relating to antisocial behaviour?

Which counties in the UK had the most prosecutions for crimes relating to antisocial behaviour in 2022?

We said

Thank you for your request.

Crime data published by the Office for National Statistics are produced from two sources of data; the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police recorded crime. The CSEW is a victimisation survey, and police recorded crime covers the offences reported to and recorded by the police.

Unfortunately, we do not produce statistics on prosecutions. However, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) are primarily responsible for collating data on offenders, prosecutions and convictions in England and Wales only. They publish statistics on a quarterly basis which may be of use to you. If you have any questions, the Ministry of Justice can be contacted at ESD@justice.gov.uk.

The Crown Prosecution Service also publish figures on prosecutions for England and Wales each quarter. For any additional queries you have regarding their data, CPS can be contacted via Enquiries@cps.gov.uk.

Crime and justice statistics for Scotland can be found on the Scottish Government website. Should you require further assistance, they can be contacted at Justice_Analysts@gov.scot.

The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for producing crime and justice statistics for Northern Ireland. For any queries, they can be contacted at statistics.research@justice-ni.x.gsi.gov.uk.
