You asked

I am writing to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:

  1. When the organisation last ran a procurement or tender process for language services, including (but not limited to) translation, interpretation, or transcription services.

  2. The evaluation weighting used in that tender, specifically the percentage weighting allocated to quality and the percentage weighting allocated to price (e.g., 70% quality / 30% price).

  3. The quality and price scores awarded to each bidder in that tender, including:

    • The name of each bidder
    • The quality score for each bidder
    • The price score for each bidder
    • The total score for each bidder

We have identified two Translation, Interpretation or Transcription services - CS-25-178 and PU 24-120. 

  1. CS-25-178 was run in May 2025. This was for Welsh translation services and was awarded to Prysg Cyf with a call-off contract of up to £300k. The term is 48 months with the option to extend for a further 24 months on a year by year basis. The contract was awarded by a Direct Award without Competition. 

  2. PU-24-120 was run in January 2024. This was for Transcription and Translation services and was awarded to Language Empire with a call-off contract of up to £160k. The term was 2 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years on a 1+1 basis. The contract was awarded through CCS Framework RM6141 Transcription and Translation Services. The Quality Score was 60%, and the Price Score was 40%. We received one bid and the winning supplier scored 50% Quality, and 40% Price, with a Total score of 90%.
