1. The total amount spent by your organisation on funding or subsidising private healthcare/medical insurance for your staff during the 2025–26 financial year.

2. A summary or copy of the private healthcare policy/policies currently available to your staff, including eligibility criteria.

We said

Thank you for your request.

We do not provide private healthcare or medical insurance as part of our standard terms and conditions of employment.

The arrangements referenced in your request relate only to a small number of employees who retain access to private healthcare as a result of legacy contractual protections following a TUPE transfer into the Office for National Statistics (ONS). These arrangements are closed to new entrants and are not available to the wider workforce.

1. The total amount spent by the ONS on private healthcare or medical insurance during the financial year ending 2026 was £25,664.16.

2. As private healthcare is not currently available to ONS staff as a general benefit, we do not hold information in scope of this question.

3. No staff were newly enrolled in the scheme during the financial year ending 2026, as it is not open to new entrants.

A total of six staff currently retain access to the policy under legacy arrangements.

We do not hold information on whether individuals have made successful claims, as claims are managed directly between the individual and the provider.
