GDHI information is not available at postcode level. The most detailed information held is at NUTS 3, roughly equivalent to county
The best source for this information is ONS's Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), which is based on a 1% sample of jobs taken from HM Revenue and Customs' Pay As You Earn (PAYE) records and is the most comprehensive source of earnings information in the United Kingdom. The most recent ASHE data are for 2014 and the published reference tables are available on our website
Annual earnings data for each local authority by place of work and by place of residence can be found in Tables 7.7a and 8.7a respectively in the corresponding zip files. Both these tables contain earnings information for Colchester district, including the median, mean and deciles, and broken down by sex and full-time/part-time status
We do not specifically publish estimates for the proportion of employee jobs between certain earnings thresholds in Colchester. However it may be possible for us to run an ad hoc tabulation for you (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreement of costs, where appropriate) via our bespoke analysis service. As the information is already available to you via this route ONS considers that S21(1) applies and the information does not have to be supplied under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. S21(1) is an absolute exemption and no consideration of the public interest test needs to be applied
The ASHE bespoke analysis price list is published at the following link under the heading "The services we offer"
If you would like to use this service please send an email specifying your request to earnings@ons.gov.uk
Information on the number of adults for the specified area from the 2011 Census for England and Wales is provided on the attached table. The details, extracted from Table KS102 on the nomis website, provide breakdowns for the number and percentage of the usually resident population aged 16 or over. Please note steps have been taken by the Office for National Statistics to protect the confidentiality of personal information
If you require further information from the 2011 Census this may be accessed from the nomis website or by contacting the Census Customer Services Team at census.customerservices@ons.gov.uk. It is not necessary to make a Freedom of Information request
