Thank you for your freedom of information request.
In Census terms, villages do not have statutory boundaries, so statistics are not produced for these areas. They may be well-known locally and recorded on maps, but they are not geographically defined. Often, villages are also Civil Parishes (know as Communities in Wales).
Blaengwynfi, Abergwynfi, Croserw and Cymmer are all localities and as such have no defined boundaries but Cymer and Glyncorrwg is a ward, so does have a defined boundary. Datasets for electoral wards has been provided in the associated download named "2021 Census – population by age for Cymer and Glyncorrwg ward".
It is possible to provide data for the areas of Glyncorrwg, Blaengwynfi, Abergwynfi, Croserw and Cymmer by "building-up" the areas using Output Areas (OAs). OAs are the lowest level of geographical area at which census estimates are provided.
Please see the associated download containing detailed maps of Glyncorrwg, Blaengwynfi, Abergwynfi, Croserw and Cymmer by Census 2021 Output Area named "FOI_2024_2344 – maps of Glyncorrwg, Blaengwynfi, Abergwynfi, Croserw and Cymmer by Census 2021 output area".
Also in the download is the file TS007A – Age by five-year age bands for all OAs in Neath Port Talbot. This enables you to extract the age data for your preferred combination of OAs to get the age data for each village named. We are unable to change the age bands but combining some groups will create the age bands you've requested.
