Please could you provide the following information:
For each year since 1980, when a 10 year projection has been made, the year 10 projection for total population and total households together with the contemporary estimate for total population and household for that year 10 for Kent County Council and Thanet District Council.
For example, if 10 year projections were made in 1980 please could you provide the 1980 based projection for total population and households in 1990 together with the 1990 based population and household estimates. Repeat for every subsequent year when 10 year projections were made.

This National population projections accuracy report details comparisons between population projections and population estimates and some of the issues involved when comparing the datasets.
Our population estimates give detail at country, county and local authority (LA) level going back to 1981. However, whilst we have data at the levels you ask for, they are not consistently the same for the requested period as there have been changes to LA status over the years. For instance, when Medway became a unitary authority, it was no longer included in the data for Kent.
With our population projections, there are none at district LA level prior to 2001. The same applies to household projections: for further information please see the household projections user guide.

We have published household estimates back to 1996 at National level (Families and Households in the UK: 2019 are the latest) and subnational household estimates are available back to 2004, from the Annual Population Survey (APS). We have published some household estimates in response to specific user requests about this. General Household Survey household data are available back to 1970s for Great Britain.
While we may be able to provide some of the data required for the analysis that you requested, further special analysis would be required as the data are not directly available. This special analysis may be available upon request but will be subject to a prioritisation process and may be subject to the charge rates available on the website, as per our charging policy.
