You asked
I am submitting a request under the Freedom of Information Act regarding the 2011/12 Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW).
I would like to request Police Force Area--level estimates, including confidence intervals, for the following indicators from the 2011/12 survey year:
- Perceptions of the local police
- Ratings of the local police and confidence in the police and local council
- Risk of personal and household crime
- Perceptions and experiences of anti-social behaviour

Thank you for your request.
We produce figures on the levels and trends of crime in England and Wales, primarily based on two sets of crime statistics; the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police recorded crime.
The dataset named CSEW estimates for personal and household crime, anti-social behaviour, and public perceptions, by police force area is published from the year ending March 2014 onwards.
However, some of the information you have requested on crime in England and Wales by police force area, for the year ending March 2012, is available via the National Archives website: The National Archives: Crime in England and Wales Quarterly First Release to March 2012 -- police force area tables. Attitudes to local police and to local police working in partnership, by police force area, are published in tables P12 and P13. Incidents and prevalence of household and personal crime, by police force area, are published in tables P6 and P7. Experiences of antisocial behaviour, by police force area, are published in table P11.
We have not created the requested analysis regarding perceptions of local police. However, estimates are available at a regional level via our CSEW open data tables.
If you have any further questions, please email us at crimestatistics.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
