Thank you for your enquiry
Unfortunately, we do not hold data for deaths involving COVID-19 where someone had a terminal illness. Our data is derived from information collected at the point of death registration and this is not recorded as part of the death certificate.
You may wish to contact the NHS End of Life Care Programme to find out if they hold any relevant statistics. They can be contacted via email at england.palliativeandendoflife@nhs.net. NHS digital may also be able to assist with your enquiry. They can be contacted via email at enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk.
However, we do hold analysis of deaths involving COVID-19 where a pre-existing condition was also recorded on the death certificate, but this would not include information on whether the condition was terminal or at the point of COVID-19 infection they had been given a limited time to live. Please see the following publication: Pre-existing conditions of people who died due to COVID-19, England and Wales - Office for National Statistics.
