You asked
I'm looking to understand any changes over time in the estimated number of persons employed under SOC: 3231 (Youth and Community Workers) at upper-tier local authority level.
Please supply figures for each year since 2011 for:
1. Total number of employees under this SOC 2. Total number broken down by Gender
We would like to disaggregate these by upper-tier local authority if possible, or by region if not.

Thank you for your query regarding Youth and Community Workers.
We estimate the number of people employed in different occupations using the Annual Population Survey (APS), a survey based on interviews with members of private households in the UK.
We publish a breakdown of SOC2010 occupations by sex and region on our Nomis website. By changing the selections on the top of the table you can access estimates for different regions and periods. Alternatively, you can access the dataset behind that table and produce your own analysis.
We do not routinely produce any estimates for detailed occupation below the regional level due to small sample sizes.
You can request an ad-hoc analysis to be produced, by contacting our social surveys team. We may charge for this service, in line with our charging policy, depending on the amount of time taken to develop the analyses and undertake quality and disclosure control processes. However, please note, on this occasion the small sample sizes mean that this analysis is unlikely to yield useful results.
