Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act.
This response has been prepared against the pay award for our colleagues below the senior civil service, because we have delegated authority over their pay arrangements. We do not have delegated authority over the pay arrangements of the senior civil service, so their arrangements are excluded from this response.
The last pay award delivered an overall increase to the pay bill of 3.75%.
Two different percentage increases were applied:
colleagues at Civil Service Grade EO (Executive Officer) and below received a 5.65% increase
colleagues at Civil Service Grade HEO (Higher Executive Officer) and above received a 3.25% increase
The pay increase was effective from 1 August 2025.
Payments were made with January 2026 salaries (paid on 30 January 2026), backdated to 1 August 2025.
