I am requesting the most recent statistics in relation to the numbers of deaths of UK-based paramedics by suicide. I am requesting total numbers for all the UK Scottish and Welsh ambulance services.

We are responsible for the production of mortality statistics for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk.

The occupation of the deceased is derived from information collected at death registration. The Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) is a classification of occupational information for the UK. Occupations defined using the Standard Occupation Classification (v.2010). For information on the classification hierarchy please see SOC 2010. The 4-digit SOC code for paramedics is 3213.
