You asked

I would like to know since Quarantine travel restrictions were introduced to the UK, a period of two weeks self isolation from return from countries not on the "allowed" travel list, I would like to know of those :-

  1. How many people have died from Covid 19
  2. How many people have tested positive

Thank you for your enquiry.

Our mortality data is taken from the death certificate.

Information on travel undertaken by the deceased is not recorded as part of this registration process, therefore we consider this information not held.

However, the following information may be of use to you:

Weekly COVID-19 deaths are available as part the following publication: Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional. This publication is updated every Tuesday.

From the COVID-19 Infection Survey we have published information on travel abroad. The analysis presents trends in positivity rates comparing those who travelled abroad in the 30 days prior to the swab test with those who did not travel abroad. You can find this in our monthly characteristics article published in September (see figure 5). This analysis does not adjusted for age, region or national positivity.
