Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, the data sources held by us do not allow for analysis of earnings at such high levels. Our most robust collection of earnings information is the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) which, with an annual sample size of approximately 170,000 employees, provides a comprehensive picture of earnings across employees in general but not at such specific levels. Further, it doesn't include details about earnings of the self-employed.

Analysis of high earners is best conducted from HMRC sources, for example this report by the Institute for Fiscal Studies on income of the top 1% utilised self-assessment income tax records. We therefore recommend that you contact HMRC to check what information they may be able to provide.
