Thank you for your request.

Our mortality statistics are taken from the information provided on death certificates.

We do not hold information relating to dialysis as this is not recorded on the death certificate. You may be able to obtain this information from NHS Digital, they can be contacted by email via enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk.

However, please see the following dataset: Pre-existing conditions of people whose death was recorded with an underlying cause of COVID-19, deaths registered in 2020. This dataset can be found in section 7 of the Monthly mortality analysis bulletin. This dataset provides a greater insight into the leading underlying causes of death groups for deaths occurring in England and Wales in 2020 and will be updated quarterly. COVID-19 deaths involving pre-existing conditions in this publication are split by broad age groups between 1-64 and 65+.

In order to provide further breakdown of this publication for the requested age group (30-35), we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.

If you would like to discuss these statistics further, please contact health.data@ons.gov.uk.
