You asked

I am looking to get a dataset looking at employment level (total volume not rate) and hours worked for different age groups.  At the moment the only data I can find in the ONS releases, and also previous FOI's breaks young people down by 16-17 YO's and then 18-24 YO's, however I wanted to be able to get data for each single year, i.e employment volumes and hours worked for 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22.

I assume the data exists within the above series but isn't able to be split out on the publicly available data.  Would it be possible to share the table with the background data looking at each year? Hopefully the request is clear.  I only need the data for the latest quarter, but the time series would also be helpful.

I ideally would like to add the average weekly hours worked as well, as in the hours data series the data isn't split by age.

I have included a simple table below;

Please let me know if it is possible to get this additional data.

Thank you for your request.

We do not routinely publish or calculate information by single year of age. However, a recent request through our ad-hoc scheme, for labour market status by single year of age, includes information on the numbers employed.

Information on numbers of hours worked by single year of age is available to request through this ad-hoc data request scheme. As this information is reasonably accessible via another route, even if only accessible on payment, Section 21(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies.
