Number of hotels and hotel rooms in the UK

MKG Hospitality is a company specialized in marketing and tourism industry. Every year, we make an annual Tourism survey to provide information about the trend in the hotels industry around Europe.

We are currently conducting a study on the UK hotel industry. For that purpose, I am looking for the following information:

• number of hotels in UK
  

• number of hotel rooms

I would appreciate if you could send me the last updated data for each hotel classification or the contact details of the person who can provide the information.

We said

The latest annual capacity data (up to and including 2011) (29 Kb Excel sheet) is attached. These statistics are compiled from VisitEngland VisitWales, VisitScotland and NI Tourism Board data.

The grand totals of establishments, bedrooms and bed-spaces are in orange.

For the numbers of establishments and bed-spaces, subtotals for "hotels & similar establishments" and "other collective establishments" are in yellow.
There are further breakdowns by types of "other collective establishments" for establishments and bed-spaces".
The number of bedrooms is only required for hotels and similar.

The statistics are available at sub-national level (NUTS1,2 & 3).

Data for other EU countries is also available.
