Unfortunately manufacturing data collected by the Office for National Statistics as part of the UK manufacturers sales by product (PRODCOM) survey is collected at a higher level than fish and chip shop frying ranges. The manufacture of this specific range of products would be classified to:
289315801 – Non-domestic equipment for cooking and heating food.
This data, with a time series from 2008, is available to view on the Prodcom page of the ONS website. While commercial fryers would be included in this data, it would also include all other non-domestic ovens, cookers and any device used to heat for in a non-domestic setting. This data represents sales of newly manufactured products and does not measure sales of reconditioned products.
As the data are published at low product levels, further sub-national breakdowns are not held.
