I would like to make a Freedom of Information request for the following information: Number of death notifications of care home residents in England received by CQC between 10 April 2020 and 31 March 2021; by Local Authority, by quarter
For further clarification, I am looking for all the causes equivalent of the data published by CQC yesterday, by Local Authority rather than by individual care home.
I am aware of the existing dataset Number of deaths in care homes notified to the Care Quality Commission, England; however I am hoping to gain this information for all care home residents, including those whose death occurred outside the care home.

Our mortality data is based on the postcode of usual residence of the deceased. This differs from the death notification care home data provided to us from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Therefore, we do not hold the data to be able to extract the equivalent deaths for all causes. CQC data for all causes would need to be requested directly from them. They can be contacted on the following information.access@cqc.org.uk.
We have produced the following Care home resident deaths registered in England and Wales, provisional which does contain weekly figures based on death registrations. Please see the 'weekly registrations' table, row A7 and A8 which contains all cause deaths of care home residents, 2020 and 2021.
